HISTORY
The Wayne Area Conservancy Foundation was started over 20 years ago when Brooks McCormick was inspired to start an organization with the mission to encourage the preservation of the open space in the Wayne area. The goal was to preserve the heritage of equestrian activities and the lifestyle that residents of the Wayne area had come to cherish.
Working closely with the DuPage County Forest Preserve, utilizing volunteers, and through generous donations, the Wayne Area Conservancy Foundation has been able to increase the open space in and around Wayne and has also helped preserve some of the historic buildings that are so integral to the Wayne heritage. The Wayne Area Conservancy Foundation also promotes equestrian activities and educational opportunities, especially as it pertains to the Wayne-DuPage Pony Club.
The goal of the Wayne Area Conservancy Foundation is to create open space, not only for the equestrian community, but for the local residents of the Wayne area for many years to come. With the help of volunteers and your support, we will continue to enhance the Wayne countryside with open space and to preserve our natural resources for future generations to enjoy. The Wayne Area Conservancy Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization for over 10 years. All donations are tax deductible and all contributions fund the Wayne Area Conservancy Foundation projects and programs. We are an entirely volunteer based organization.
